obama’s glam slam strikes out with sista

Posted on September 10th, 2008 in Sista Christian Louboutin by hireheels

Last night, while flipping from the BOSOX to FOX, I stopped dead and stared stupefied at my TV screen. Did he just say that I thought? No, no I must have misheard… let me hit DVR replay… Yes, yes he did just say that!

sistachristian_byline
Within minutes the emails started flooding the inbox. The story was virally spreading like wildfire. The conflagration caught hold in the blogosphere and within an hour the video shot up to 60,000 views. At this posting, it’s nearing 500K. The Boston Globe weighed in almost immediately. Former Governor Jane Swift blasted the comments, the talking heads on the tube were quick to exclaim that the “pig and lipstick” reference was taken from an old adage that even Senator McCain had used before. To the MSM and political punditry, I say, “NO DEAL to past definitions of appropriate proverbs. The playing field is different now!” For the first time, the GOP team has a co-captain who wears lipstick (in public at least).

Honestly Senator Obama, what in heck were you thinking?!? Obviously the answer is—you weren’t thinking. Or maybe you were thinking that reckless insults would fire up your base… Well let me tell ya Mr. Senator, you’ve fired people up AROUND THE HORN— the votes in play in McCain’s base, ones that should be in your base and ones that don’t even know whom they will support, but just think you’re way off base!

Just two short weeks ago, Senator Obama once again promised to bring hope and change, when he preached to over 80,000 people at Invesco Field. I was there and was actually struck by the fervor of these words: “What, what is that American Promise? It’s a promise that says each of us has the freedom to make of our own lives what we will, but that we also have obligations to treat each other with dignity and respect…” Senator Barack Obama 7.28.08 speech minute: 18.38

I should have known better… I’ve been dumped already… Senator, where’s the dignity and respect in inferring that your opponent is a pig? I thought not… And as for the “dead fish” … I’m too horrified to even touch that one. You’re caught in a classic pickle for two reasons… either your judgment is off its stump or your platform is a sham—which is it? Either way you’re going to need to step up and make a pitching change or that game plan that made you and David Axelrod “The Boys of Summer” isn’t going to make it through October let alone early November.

Oh my gosh! I can’t possibly be the very first person to comment here, can I?

Well. Yeah, first off it was predictable that bo and his crew would defend the comment rather than simply apologize for the gaffe and move on. It would have been much more plausible if he said that he was “really only using a well-known adage” to attack McCain *and then* say that in light of the fact that the guv had *just* used the word lipstick to descibe herself in a little joke merely days before he used it that it could be construed as a base remark. *that* would have been plausible.

But no, instead he has to go for the red phone and order up additional ground support and air cover–with apparently no clue that he’d already lost that skirmish.

Dear God! The crash is going to be mighty and terrible.

That is what the pundits do not understand. It has nothing to do with our uteras. It has everything to do with the primary, everything to do with the way the tanked media treated Hilary and everything to do with the way Obama ignored the treatment she received.
We all remember when he brushed his shoulder, when he snubbed her on the hill, when he remarked that she was “likeable enough.”
And let us not forget the DNC in his pocket, when they thought the American public had no choice in the matter and tried to push her out of the race for months.
I love to see a narcissistic man sweat, and that is exactly what is happening now.

By the way, not all heels are liberals!!!!!

Obama is toast, and he needs to leave the ticket ASAP so there’s a chance to nominate Hillary — if she’d even agree to it now. THe Repubs have the story that he’s not eligible, but they don’t want it to break until late October — when it will have max neg. affect on other Dems as well (they’re the Super Dels who supported him in Denver) — that’s why this story needs to get out — maybe in college newspapers if MSM won’t cover it:

something is definitely floating out there —what’s truly stunning about that fact, is that obama is sliding already in the polls….if they pull the rabbit out of the hat, at just the right moment – he will not be able to recover….

again, truly stunning, becuz the punditry believed obama would have a commanding lead all summer and into the fall….gee, wonder if those damn cats had anything to do with that ;-)

The problem is that the pundits want to believe that he didn’t mean it that way, because he would get no advantage from doing something so crass. But what they are ignoring is that this is exactly how he won the primaries, and he falls back to what he knows. Actually, his campaigning isn’t all that good. He has gotten where he is from cheating. When he couldn’t cheat, he started to fall behind. The only chance they really have in Nov. is to cheat. Unfortunately for them, I am not sure they will have the ability to pull it off.

One more point, the reason people are listening to these claims and don’t mind being pulled away from the “issues” is that this is an issue for a lot of us. We don’t trust his stand on the issues, because he lies and changes too often. So, this election will have to be decided on character, and that is judged by word and deed. Right now, Obama is showing his character mostly from the back.

Just watched Palin return to Alaska, and the boys are in trouble. She can speak a whole lot better than BO and no contest for Biden. She can excite a crowd, and if she uses notes, she is good at hiding it. My favorite line…”Alaska, where men are men and women win the Iditerod” Apparently it is one of her favorite bumper-stickers. Can’t fault that, it would be one of mine, too.

Because we all know mccain would never use the lipstick and pig line, right?

On October 11, 2007, McCain was speaking regarding Hillary Clinton’s health policies, he said that although he had not studied Ms Clinton’s proposals, it was reminicent of her previous proposal during her husband’s administration and “I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.” And here’s that video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR8IhMMhe8w

No one, not even Hillary Clinton screamed sexist/sexism at that time. No one. Let me say that again. No One.

We are less than two months before the election. If the DNC and the candidate think they are still in the “silly season” with the economy in meltdown, heaven help us all next winter.

its just a saying, nothing more. even bill o’reilly thinks its a bunch of nonsense.

Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane He turned to her and said, ‘Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.’

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to Obama, ‘What would you like to talk about?’

‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said Obama. ‘How about What Changes I Should Make To America ?’ and he smiles.

‘OK, ‘ she said. ‘That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a ho rse produces clumps of dried grass.
Why do you suppose that is?’

Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea.’

To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don’t know shit ?

  42. on September 11th, 2008 at 11:06 am

t-bone you had the same talking points yesterday, which i addressed. the bottom line, given the tenor of the cycle, senator obama’s comments were a blunder. he needs to make some changes. stop touting him as the lesser of two evils. convince me with positive cites of his bona fide accomplishments instead. you may not influence everyone here, but it’s going to be a tight election– he’s going to need every vote he can glean. you’re certainly not going to win anyone over by calling them losers. carry on.

As regards to knowing more about SP – I think I already know more in one week abt her +family then I ever cared for thanks to some cutting edge investigative ‘journalism’. Although I am still waiting for an itemized list of the woman’s garbage can to be analyzed by a round of political experts on TV – just to make sure we really know who we are dealing with!

Turning to BO – I am still looking for the beef. After 20 months of campaigning it is a bad sign if the only things I can remember are ‘Yes, we can’ and ‘95% of tax cuts for every family’, and not to forget the Greek columns! So, I think he needs to step up, after all he is at the top of the ticket. He is the man.

No, it’s not silly season he falls back on – - it’s distractions. That term has rarely been used. If the incident reflects poorly on him, it’s the same response…”this is a distraction, let’s talk issues.” Did we talk issues? No, they proceeded to demean themselves by even calling into question McCain’s mental capabilities due to his age. That was low. I’m telling you – - that did not go over big here in the sunshine state. Sr. Citizens may no longer be bouncy physically, but their minds are still clicking.. They don’t like some young whipper snapper (to them O is young) telling them their minds are failing; particularly that most of them are a lot older than McCain.

As far as the beef Cara Mia, we are still waiting for that too. So I am sticking to my pasta because the beef, if it ever comes along will be beyond the shelf life date for purchase.

Obama has worked to promote civil rights and fairness in the criminal justice system throughout his career. As a community organizer, Obama helped 150,000 African Americans register to vote. As a civil rights lawyer, Obama litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases. As a State Senator, Obama passed one of the country’s first racial profiling laws and helped reform a broken death penalty system. And in the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.

The genocide in Darfur has had particularly devastating consequences for women. Tens of thousands of women have been killed, raped, and displaced since the conflict began in 2003. Barack Obama has been a leading voice in Washington urging the end of genocide in Sudan. He worked with Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) on the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, a version of which was signed into law. Obama has traveled to the United Nations to meet with Sudanese officials and visited refugee camps on the Chad-Sudan border to raise international awareness of the ongoing humanitarian disaster there. He also worked with Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to secure $20 million for the African Union peacekeeping mission.

Ovarian cancer is the fourth-leading cause of cancer-related death among women in the United States. Because of the lack of early symptoms or a proven screening test, ovarian cancer also has the highest mortality of all cancers of the female reproductive system. Barack Obama is an original co-sponsor of Johanna’s Law. Signed into law in January 2007, the law will educate women and increase awareness of ovarian cancer. Obama has also supported efforts to combat breast cancer, another leading cause of death among women. He helped pass legislation in the Illinois State Senate to expand insurance coverage for mammograms.

Social Security and Pensions: In the midst of the 2005 debate over Social Security privatization, Obama gave a major speech at the National Press Club forcefully arguing against privatization. He also repeatedly voted against Republican amendments that aimed to privatize Social Security or cut benefits. Obama has also voted to force companies to properly fund their pension plans so taxpayers don’t end up footing the bill.

Medicare: Obama has supported a number efforts to strengthen Medicare, including voting for legislation to allow Medicare to negotiate for cheaper prescription drug prices and to extend the enrollment period for low-income beneficiaries.

Protecting Seniors: After reports that lobbyists, but not the American people, received information about the most unsafe nursing homes in the country, Barack Obama demanded the Department of Health and Human Services release that information to the public. Following Obama’s letter, the names of the four Iowa care facilities cited for unsafe care were released to the public. Obama’s efforts follow his successful efforts in Illinois to make nursing home information public and strengthen elder abuse laws.

I can keep going if you want to play this game…

Hi–another drive-by while I have a moment. As someone who has served in a political trench or two, I’m appalled at the lack of campaign chops in the Obama campaign. Even if I were to believe he had absolutely no sexism in his hear at the moment he made the lipstick comment (not like I’m inclined to believe that, but let’s just pretend)…someone campaigning at his level ought to know in his very bones not to walk into that trap.

I still can’t quite believe the dems blew it by shoving out the door the one person who has aced the Palin test so far. Has anyone noticed that Hillary won’t touch it? Smart, smart lady. Why aren’t the rest of the dems following her lead? This was the year that the dems couldn’t lose because everyone’s sick of a mismanaged war, an economy going down in flames for everyone except the richest 1% of us, corruption and illegal politics infiltrating the justice department and pretty much every other federal department the bushies can get their hands on…and what does Obama do? He puts his damn foot in his mouth over and over and over again. Good grief.

T-Bone – you call giving a speech to the National Press Club an achievement? Let me rephrase what I am looking for in BO’s CV: action not talk! I have run marathons for raising funds for breast cancer research and women shelters – I guess I should consider a career change, given that I not only talked abt it, but I went all the way – and that is 42.195K to be precise!

Manolo Minx-well put. It reminds me of the English soccer team which consistently looses in major tournaments on penalty kicks-how could you not be prepared for a standard situation? Beats me!

Tbone- it was still stupid to say given the current climate. Palin had just made the ” lipstick bulldog” line her own and then Obama uses the “lipstick, pig” line. Not good timing. Whether it was a Freudian slip (he seems to be really worried about Palin) or a a completely innocent remark it was a terrible juxtaposition of comments.

He has done nothing on his own legislatively speaking, and he lies and flips so often that it would be ludicrous to believe him, no matter how good it sounds.

This election has become about honesty and honor, and fairness. He has nothing to offer there. He could start apologizing now and it still wouldn’t help him by Nov..

So, what he says he stands for means nothing next to what he has shown he is really for.

I can’t imagine how you think nastiness will win votes, but that is how BO’s campaign seems to work. Don’t know your candidate? Hi Rey: Yes, it’s true. The clothes thing was wrong though. I ask you…what does Senator McCain’s computer literacy have to do with the price of oil? As much as how many houses he owns, that’s how much. What happened about the issues? Yesterday, it was all about discussing issues, and now we are talking computers.

There’s another rumor going around – - – at least on one blog….Could have been put out by a disguised O supporter though. Biden stepping down, Hillary taking his place. Now if O does that, how weak that will make him look. It’s said that the choice of a VP is the first and most important executive decision the candidate makes. O was wrong, McCain was right. And as we read, O was approach regarding a female pick and we were called “stupid” to ask. If he pulls that, he will look worse than he does now. Hope that’s just a rumor.

So interesting how the Pioneer press did not show crime statistics in the article. The victim was charged if they did not have insurance. How many victims actually paid for their kits was not shown either. Fortunately, rape victims in the town of Wasilla are low. So how much money from was actually collected? I would like to see that information printed as well.

t-bone: We don’t know if this is a policy that the city had when she took office or something she implemented herself. Has anyone bothered to ask her directly? No. And again, how many of those victims came in without insurance. The crime rate in that city is very low, so certainly huge sums of money were not being collected to show that the Governor was insensitive and out to bring in revenue. Come on T-, she is a woman, and has daughters. Do you actually think the Governor is so insensitive to sexual assaults on women. The very idea of that is ridiculous.

Then-Gov. Tony Knowles said Thursday that Wasilla was unique in the state in charging rape victims for the cost of doing the law enforcement necessary for solving the crime.

The bill passed the Legislature over the objections of Wasilla police chief Charlie Fannon, who said it would require the city to come up with more money to cover the costs of buying the rape kits and doing the exams.

obama scares me, i think its my “women’s intuition”. I think he is going to send this country down the road of destruction and then blame us because we didn’t do anything about it. Well we can, I hope mccain gets in atleast we know what we are getting and then we can tell them you need to fix things and now. For instance, the americans have been pussy footing around with the Pakistan What they need to do is go in there and bomb the Al Queda camps, get bin laden, arrest him, and bring home those young men and women. Another thing that is wrong with this country and it goes for all great nations, we need to bring morals, respect, and honestly back into our society if we are to prevail and succeed as a nation. Otherwise we are doomed!

If obama gets in I am going to leave the united states i swear.

Palin, as mayor, fired police chief Irl Stambaugh and replaced him with Charlie Fannon, who with Palin’s knowledge, slashed the budget for the exams and began charging the city’s victims of sexual assault. The city budget documents demonstrate Palin read and signed off on the new budget. A year later, alarmed Alaska lawmakers passed legislation outlawing the practice.

It turns out that Wasilla did not bill sexual assault victims for the cost of rape exams while Irl Stambaugh was chief of police. As chief, he had included a line item in the budget to pay for the cost of such exams. He had only just heard about the Mayor Palin/Chief Fannon policy today, and was just as shocked to hear about it as I was.

Checking the budget confirmed former Chief Stambaugh’s claim. He had included a contingency of $15,000 in his budget for the department’s 1st year of existence (1993-1994), $5,000 for 1994-1995 and 1995-1996, and $13,000 for his final year as police chief in 1996-1997, spending $11,625.

Duwayne Charles Fannon, his replacement, halved the budget request in 1997-1998, with a request of $7,298, spending $3,454. However, it seems he began the “victim pays” policy in the 1998-1999 fiscal year. That year, he requested $3,000 but spent only $205. This data can be found in the Document Central section of Wasilla’s website.

as some of the above have tried to point out, we are so far from the issues that it doesn’t matter that we disagree with Gov. Palin on matters of sex. It does matter that we not elect someone who is the nominee only because he thwarted and manipulated the process. We expected this of GWB but certainly not of the democrats. This basic issue of democracy is more important that anything else – what about that can’t you understand?

mccain: sure…alaska is right next to russia. she understands that.

pressed about what insights into recent russian actions she gained by living in alaska, palin told gibson, “they’re our next-door neighbors and you can actually see russia from land here in alaska, from an island in alaska.”

    lmao…well that settles any doubt I had…

flower, while you are at it why don’t you do a little research on what all of mccain lobbyist advisors have accomplished while you are at it.
