We PUMAs continue to strike a nerve and shatter the DNC’s carefully crafted illusion of party unity with the stiletto heel of dissent and democracy!

Yesterday, fearful that our coalition may swing the election away from their Chosen One, DNC mafia members Don Fowler and Alice Germond exercised more thuggery and issued -gasp- a strongly worded e-mail (as posted on PaganPower) demanding that we STFU and fall in line behind their Messiah.

I become more surprised by the day that those who demand that we support Obama simply because he’s a Democrat had ever gotten laid. Seriously, calling me immature and telling me to get over it doesn’t make my ballot box tingle with excitement.
piper_in_pucci_byline
So I decided to respond to their ‘Unite Now or Else’ rant with an e-mail of my own:

[here's my strongly worded reply]

Dear Don and Alice,

2008 is a democratic year-at all levels in all the states. The opportunity is ours. We just have to seize it.

We experienced an exciting, intense, sometimes difficult, campaign to nominate our presidential candidate. And it’s not over yet. The nomination should be decided by automatic, or super, delegates at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

I supported Hillary Clinton and am proud and pleased that I did. But neither she nor Barack Obama received enough pledged delegates to secure the nomination. It’s not over.

It’s time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Obama, and all other contenders for the nomination to stand and allow a floor fight in Denver.

I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize PUMAs for wanting the democratic process to play out as it was intended. And since when should voters not lay down conditions for their support? I also lament the use of sports analogies when describing the 2008 Democratic primary. These comparisons are without merit. The NBA did not arbitrarily give the Boston Celtics points they did not earn, and the Association of Tennis Professionals didn’t spot Rafael Nadal two sets at Wimbledon.

It is time to act in a fair and democratic fashion. It’s time to put the coronation behind us. It’s time to support placing Senator Clinton’s name into nomination without symbolic gestures or hand-wringing.

It’s time to WIN for the voters, our democracy, America, and our future. We have an unparalleled opportunity. I hope we will all do everything we can to seize the moment.

See you at the Convention.

Sincerely,
Piper in Pucci
Proud to be a PUMA

It’s not just the amount of coverage though. Its that the media fawns all over Obama like a bunch of 12 year-olds at a Hannah Montana concert. It’s embarassing. they should stop.

Just as the obama camp exploited their fawning press devotion to roll out super delegate endorsements almost daily, its new tactic is to announce a litany of ‘former’ clinton supporters calling for a ‘get serious’ approach to falling into line.

Most CLINTON supporters I encounter 1st apologize because they know I’m a democrat and they are as well, “BUT THEY JUST CANNOT VOTE FOR obama AND CAN’T SEE THEMSELVES VOTING REPUBLICAN.” They plan to not vote. This can only hurt Super delegates up for re-election down ticket.

i am annoyed by your letter expressing your how fatigued and irritated you are at clinton supporters who aren’t falling in line behind obama. i won’t bother explaining all the reasons why i, a lifelong democrat who just re-registered independent, will not vote for obama. many people are appalled at the actions of the dnc. do you really think your “irritation” will convince anyone to like obama? the dnc has said you don’t need us old school democrats, since you’ve put together a shiny new coalition. but now you expect us to contribute. good luck with that.

    My fellow Americans:

As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your
mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative
achievement, my pastor’s relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan
dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while
I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal
behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of
claiming Bush’s youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is
a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

I would also like to thank the Kennedy’s for coming out in support of
me. There’s a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK
started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped
Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a female employee with whom
he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his
child. And I’m not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally
    and figuratively.

And I’d like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of
meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the
    White House.

Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or
achievement, but because I make people feel good. Voting for me
causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist
    guilt.

I say things that sound meaningful, but don’t really mean anything
because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have
meaning, then that means you have to think about them.

Americans are tired of thinking. It’s time to shut down the brain,
and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember, don’t think,
just do. And do it for me.

    Thank You,
    Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

Take a look at the DCCC and DSCC lists of targeted races; support the women on that list. Darcy (WA) and Judy Feder (VA) have what it takes to be great Members of Congress, and are raising the cash to communicate. Kristin Gillebrand (NY) and others need help in their re-elections. Please support these and other women in Democratic campaigns for a positive Democratic action to take. Focus on races, not the top of the ticket. What is done for down ticket Democrats may help Obama, but to stay away, and not vote, hurts great women who deserve to win their races and who will provide the details in the Democratic agenda that are being decided way too late in the election cycle. Yes, I am concerned about the centrist domestic and foreign policy positions (new ) that are being taken. Yes, I have faith in the democratic process including our election. Say no to any action that may hurt great women down ticket and/or throw the election because of mistakes that can’t be undone without greater harm to our collective interests. Liberal and progressive pragmatists will win in the end.

it is time to let Hillary know how we feel! we need to flood her mailbox and her Email!
below an Email i sent to Hillary-maybe some one will read it…I hope I expressed the PUMA spirit in it:

    Senator Clinton,

My anger and disgust with the Democratic Party go beyond the way you were treated during the primary by the DNC, Obama for America, the Mainstream Media. This race is no longer just about Clinton Vs Obama for president. I do not think now is the time to discuss me and my fellow PUMA’s many issues with the party. Instead I would like to talk about what I looked for in a Democratic Candidate.

I can only be a supporter of a candidate that I believe in, that candidate is you. I can only support a candidate that I believe is ready for the highest office in this land, that candidate is you. I can only support a candidate that is ready on day one to roll up their shirt sleeves and get to work on our nation’s greatest challenges, that candidate is you!

I will only support a candidate I trust to stand firm in their convictions to support core democratic values, that candidate is you. I will only support a candidate that will represent my liberal-progressive beliefs, that candidate is you. I will only support the candidate that fights the good fight; comes back day after day to stand up for me, that candidate is you!

While you have my loyal support even to the convention floor, I own my own vote. My loyalty is not transferable to any candidate that has a “D” after their name. I respect you for keeping your word to support the democratic nominee even if he is unqualified, uninspiring, and un-democratic.

I am asking you to respect my decision not to support Senator Obama under any condition. I along with 9 million (and growing) true loyal democrats under the PUMA/Justsaynodeal/Nobama umbrella, ask you Senator Clinton, to consider our desire to nominate the most qualified candidate. You are that candidate. The hand writing is on the wall if Senator Obama is the Democrat Nominee then the next president will be Senator John McCain.

Only you can save this party, 76 years ago FDR the greatest president of my grandparents time, on the 4th ballot saved the party from nominating the wrong “man”. Fifty years later the greatest president of my time William Jefferson Clinton fought a tough primary battle to save our country from corporate greed and economic malaise. We cannot wait fifty years for another FDR. We need another FDR now and you are the FDR of the new millennium.

    Very respectfully,

    Michael P Varvel

lake – it is sad to say at this point but this is a mistake “Yes, I have faith in the democratic process including our election.” We have witnessed the DNC take a page right from Karl Rove and twist the nomination process to their liking. It isn’t even remotely democratic. so.. now that we have seen the repubs do it twice in under a decade and the dems do it (maybe again ala old style Chicago) … the faith is ill-placed.

The only hope it has is in hireheels and puma and people who are fighting for all the votes and geez, following the rules of the party. What a concept –

Mr. Varvel, you are genius! As I was making my way home, I was contemplating the same thought of why she is almost in totaly silence throughout all these.

As I said before, I am beginning to question her wishes as well in regards to the people that are standing by her, waiting and working hard for the opportunity. Nader and Lieberman didn’t have this type of strong support in their endeavors. I wish for her to stand by the people that love her before the party as well and that imho…..is what is called undivided loyalty for the people and will be her defining moment win or lose if she choose to stand by us as her other family. Just as she stand by her man!

She started something that has outgrown her expectation and others, she need to take this to the end rather than let it sleep for the party sake who has betrayed her. What’s the price of loyalty?

“Rey – that was priceless – did u write that?? Would love to c it in a vid!!”

love to fuzzy and to you too rey— thanks for sharing. i believe that our sister hill is rising a bit– as i did receive 2 different generated emails from her HillPac today…

And this “thing” is now bigger than Senator Clinton. It’s about standing up for what is right regardless if you win or lose a “rigged” primary. legally cast and certified votes must count, no legally registered voter should ever feel intimidation when they go to the polls, no american citizen should ever be denied their right (and duty) to keep our government in check by having their votes and their voices heard.

honestly the dnc, as a private organization can anoint whomever they want… they just won’t have us to bring the home the general election for them… nor will we be there to finance them in their corrupt business.

i say we take a lesson from the “untouchables.” if chairman dean and senator obama (after he finished the “hope and change tour”) want to bring the dnc to chicago– i say let’s do what the guys did to bring down chitown’s own capone— “follow the money.” do we have any fab heel accountants out there (i hope)?

Good evening everyone. Settled in long enough to read through all the comments. Busy day and night. Posts are Great as usual; Fuzzybear – you are right. Senator Clinton does need to hear from us. Your letter is personable, honest, & real. Written to a friend not a politician.

After reading through my e-mails mid morning or so, I lost it. I then proceeded to draft a letter to superdelegates all supporting Senator Babble. I was ticked. No, I was the “p” word. I was thinking, we are all just too nice. I wrote it off the top of my head, in fury; it’s not grammatically correct; I didn’t watch my sentence structure or punctuation, and I didn’t list all of his flip flops, and etc…but my anger did not subside until I got through 8 states. I will take a chance and post it. I was at that moment, done being nice and correct,. I know I went a over the top, but how much can ya take?

Letter to superdelegates supporting Obama, FL, MA, NM, NY, District of Columbia, CA, (3 others I can’t remember – written down in the office)

Statistics show that support for Barack Obama hit a low not seen since early June on Monday, but the Democrat is still ahead of John McCain in the latest daily presidential tracking poll from Rasmussen Reports, by a WHOPPING 1%. He has also lost 33% of young voters who he was so counting on to win in November.

Opening with a prayer at the convention; faith based initiatives, refusing Senator Clinton’s rightful place at the convention, voting to extend FISA, teaching bible in the public schools, etc., etc., etc., and illustrating that he is the 3rd Term of Bush? What is going on here?

You tell Senator Obama that he can take his Black Liberation Theology, his anti-gay, hidden philosophy and decide…ARE YOU A DEMOCRAT? WILL YOU BE A PRESIDENT, OR A PREACHER? You Senator Obama balance the budget, get America back to work, drill for oil and find alternative sources of energy, Defend and Protect the Constitution, deal with trade deals, CLEAN UP AFTER PRESIDENT BUSH, and don’t PREACH TO ME!!

I have my own faith, and I don’t appreciate the democratic party supporting such a candidate who is destroying every reason I have to support this party. I don’t want Senator Obama’s New America. I am not joining his New Democratic Party. I don’t want Senator Obama preaching to me, the country, or turning this party into a nightmare, which he has already done!!! I don’t want Senator Obama for President.

And in case you missed it, here is the brand of Christianity that Obama believes in. The very mission statement of his church of 20 years:

Mission Statement: What Trinity Is About
Trinity United Church of Christ has been called by God to be a congregation that is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that does not apologize for its African roots! As a congregation of baptized believers, we are called to be agents of liberation not only for the oppressed, but for all of God’s family. We, as a church family, acknowledge, that we will, building on this affirmation of “who we are” and “whose we are,” call men, women, boys and girls to the liberating love of Jesus Christ, inviting them to become a part of the church universal, responding to Jesus’ command that we go into all the world and make disciples!
We are called out to be “a chosen people” that pays no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds. We are made up of the highly educated and the uneducated. Our congregation is a combination of the haves and the have-nots; the economically disadvantaged, the under-class, the unemployed and the employable.
The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!
W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.

Get Senator Clinton nominated, or lose the White House in November!! ENOUGH!!!

Making the presumption and un utterly taking the credit to the accomplishment of the surge if you wanna call that, is a complete audacity of ignorance and a complete insult to those who desserved credit such as our military leadership. He is the ultimate poser of all time if you ask me. The DNC needs to throw his arse on the bus! …..idiot!

    Fuzzy,

It would be funny if over these months leading up to the convention the Repugs designed their whole campaign around beating Obama with 350 commercials about what a bad guy he is …and then come august it’s no obama! Suprize it is Hillary-could they turn and piviot fast enough to mount an effective campaign against her?

You know quite well I’ve been fantasizing about such an outcome :-) .

Sista, you’re right–it looks like the MSM is perhaps gagging on the stink of its own mess and beginning, ever so gently, about it in public. I’ll bet puma power is a major fuel for that fire, too. Let me see if I can collect a few choice samples for everyone’s amusement :-)

manolo–i was thinking the same thing about the msm. (great minds, you know) obama had a tense interview with terry moran of abc news about the surge, and nbc’s andrea mitchell complained yesterday about the campaign’s tight message handling and ‘fake interviews’. and everyone knows why ryan lizza of the new yorker was left out of the clique. perhaps o doesn’t send a thrill up the media’s collective leg anymore?

sorry to take so long getting back, my parrots were in a tizz last night, dropped the modem, and locked myself out without knowing it! Didn’t figure it out until this morning, while on the line with support, how embarrassing. Anyway, the info on HRC fundraising is at dakiniland.wordpress.com, and, of course, it was puma and jsnd inspired. Some sites didn’t want to help because they felt that all monies should go to putting McCain in, to keep.BHO out. H owever, that makes our motives suspect, and diminishes the reason we ended up here in the first place. I bought my t-shirt, I forwarded to my friends, you all did the same, and what BHO and Pelosi were sure cuoldn’t happen, happened.

    “puma quotes”
    obama talking to himself.
Mama always said super delagtes was like a box a chocolates, never know what how many you can buy off.

obama thinking. “I’m not a smart man, but I know the media loves me”
obama thinking to himself.”all those people bought that BS i was selling them
    Stupid is as stupid does.
