who won tonight’s debate? DUH!

Clinton!

She may be in kitten heels, but, once again Clinton towers over Obama in stature, conviction, texture, breadth of knowledge and fearlessness. Obama seems miffed that nonsensical questions would be asked of him – on Wright and Ayers. Simply saying: "the American People are smarter than that" is a fine response for a cocktail party in San Francisco, but princess asks: "how smart was HE to associate with such divisive characters?" Obama’s tone actually contributes to the elitism charges out there right now. Bottom line – he could have put these issues to bed, but he didn’t.

On America’s broad economic issues: taxes, economy, budget deficit, social security, Obama answers more analytically…appears professorial. Conversely, Clinton nails it on the head with her responses – no hesitation. She leaves the viewer no doubt as to her command of the economy. She’s already GOT what Obama needs to GET. It’s frighteningly obvious in this debate, who’s better prepared, not only for tonight, but for the oval office.

Princess hopes Pennsylvanians agree.

I’m trying to make sure more people hear this… last night, during the debate (and other times in the past year), Barack Obama referred to people as “Mentally Deranged.” Please see here for the video:

    http://www.flishfun.com/blog/?p=389

As you know, there is a huge stigma that comes with being diagnosed with a mental disorder, and we feel that Obama apparently doesn’t see the issue. We see this usage of the term as a blanket phrase for “mental illness” in the way he is using it. If that’s not what he meant, then where does “illness” end and “deranged begin? This is a horrible phrase to use to describe Mental Illness… and here we have someone running for President using them without a thought.

My wife (as well as others in her family) suffers with Bipolar and she is quite offended by his statement and wants to know what he was thinking.

Please pass this message and link on to everyone you know so that he is called to explain himself. No matter your stance on politics, I feel this is inexcusable. Please do your best to let as many people know as possible (a blog post would be swell! ;) But seriously, we just want people aware).

Princess, you got it right. Hillary is very presidential and knows all of the issues, inside out. She’s a fighter and will fight for the welfare of the hard-working middle class people. Obama’s true colors are coming out. People are realizing he’s not the person he pretends to be.

I hope to be at the party tomorrow night. See ya then!

I beilive that Hillary nailed the debate. It’s about time that Obama was questioned about all his dirty laundry. He has had a free pass long enough. If Deomcrats do not wake up it is going to be too late and we are going to loose the election again to a Republican. Obama will never win in a general election. Go Hillary

I’m not really of the opinion that either of them should be bringing up the issues of dirty laundry…. $17 mill in unaccounted cash on your taxes is no joke… Let’s see. The Clintons had a couple mill going into the White House. Now that they have left government service they have $100 Million. I saw someone post something on how Hillary always answers the questions of people…. BRRRRR… wrong answer….. I have seen her talk 360 degrees around a question she didn’t want to answer. I do not know what to make of the supposed Auchi thing; it sounds very much like the Iraqi version of the Huang Chinese fundraiser thing for Clinton.

I think Hillary Clinton brings a lot more to the table than the large majority of Democrats in a lot of ways. She is strong, and determined, if a little to willing to play loose with the truth now and again as it suits her purpose. She is pushing for things she feels are important and good for the United States… but public service has been good to her and made her a rich woman.

I’m not saying this to make Obama into the perfect candidate… he doesn’t have as polished ideas, true. There was a much clearer plan in Hillary’s words. But he does have pretty good instincts and certainly has an energy which drives those around him in a way we have not seen before. And I’m sure he’s been in some rooms with some rich and powerful people trying to push their agenda, and the question of whether or not there was a clear financial transference is always a valid one when you deal with public officials at that high a level. I don’t think that exists, although I do think an audit of campaign funds, with this much money being spent is a wise idea.
I’m not worried about the general election… John Mccain is a guy who applied to get around a campaign finance law called McCain Feingold.

I want to know why the question is about who will win and why it’s not have these guys shown up to work lately?

I’d like to know how many votes these guys have missed in this time
They are the most powerful members of the most powerful body of the US Senate, and they make decisions about where hundreds of billions of dollars go…. there are people dying, while two Senators with similar ideas get their supporters barking at each other, spending millions of dollars while our infrastructure crumbles, while weather patterns are destabilizing. Our dollar is worth less every day. And our educational standards have been in decline for decades.

These people are being paid to represent us, and they’re spending their time arguing minutiae and engaging in a costly game of he said, she said.

How many jobs can you keep where you get a year and a half off to interview for another job?

How about we stop talking about who has worse associates..
To me it seems a little like a bad episode of the Real World, a bunch of people watching other people snipe at each other except billions are spent every week, people are dying.

How about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton pass some bills that will help their agenda, now.

How about they go to Iraq, and try to get us a plan, how about they organize some votes around their bills in Congress.. how about they start putting pressure on the Republicans… asking them individually why they are blocking the bills?

Put each of them on camera, saying why they are voting one way or another…. I’ll bet you those no votes start disappearing, fast.

Maybe they only get to go to rallies three days a week., where they can talk about the progress they’ve had in solving our problems, tell their stories, and let the people decide which one is better suited for the head job… and I don’t know why people are acting like the vp job isn’t a critical function. Running the Senate, running the country while the President is in foriegn meetings, which this next President is going to have a lot of, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Africa. I think we are going to need treaties with a number of nations, and to actually go there to understand the nations we are negotiating with. Really, speaking with many leaders across the globe, pressing our interests, but also listening for ways we can improve our relationships with these countries.

I’d like to see our prospective Presidents act as current Senators, working on some of these problems rather than talking about what they would do to help if they had a different job.

The only thing that will get my vote in November, is a detailed report from them on what they ARE doing, and not what they will do.

The candidates, are not as important as the issues. What is important is that the people start asking questions, demanding a higher standard from their politicians, understanding the issues that face the nation, and understanding as much about their largest expense, the government as they do about their next largest purchases, their house and their cars. Voting is not enough… you must ask for more from your government, for more for your money.

If you want to start to understand at a better level what goes on start here:
    http://www.foreignaffairs.org/20080501faessay87304/richard-n-haass/the-age-of-nonpolarity.html

Why do we pay Pakistan 10 Billion per year for weapons(military aid)? Especially when they have been believed to have sold nuclear technology?

If we pay them, why can’t we go after Osama Bin Laden, who is hiding there?

Why is the worlds leading supplier of heroin, a US controlled state in the body of Afghanistan?

Ask why the “Democratic” party has all sorts of “super” delegates whose opinions matter more than those of other people?
Why are there rules moderating or negating the right of my vote?

That is the way it is…. but is that the way it has to be?

What is my government doing for me, for the money I pay it?

This is the best, richest and most powerful nation in the world, and I would like it to stay that way… so I ask questions about how it can do things better, and hold our leaders to at the minimal levels I would my co-workers, that they show up to the jobs we pay them for.

The nature of a democracy, is that the people decided…how about in our republic, those civil servants who have jobs in our government do them, and make their case about who deserves the top spot later or on their own time.
